Women's Basketball's Parris and Whitten Tabbed to CACC's All-Academic Team
Skylar Parris, Senior 3.69 GPA | Niyah Whitten, Junior 3.72 GPA
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of their diligence and hard work in the classroom, Skylar Parris and Niyah Whitten of the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team have each been named to the CACC's All-Academic Team for 2024-25.
Whitten, who also earned the recognition last year, currently sits with a 3.72 GPA as a junior Psychology major. Parris, meanwhile, possesses a 3.69 GPA as a senior Health Sciences major.
Whitten is a three-year member of the Purple Knights while Parris finishes up a two-year career at UB after transferring into the program from Wilmington University.
To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must have: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) a Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) must be second year student-athlete at member institution.
