ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Continuing a stretch of seven consecutive non-conference games to begin the season, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team dropped a 55-35 matchup at Molloy on Thursday night.
The Purple Knights were led by a 13-point performance from Niyah Whitten. The junior made a trio of three-pointers in the contest.
Shakira Hester, who is leading UB in almost every statistical category this season, chipped in five points and a team-high 11 rebounds. She notched two blocks and an assist as well.
Ana Gascon also rebounded well for Bridgeport, finishing with nine boards to go along with a team-best three steals.
Harmony Earth-Wiley matched Hester's two blocks in the game while also adding five points, six rebounds and two steals.
The Purple Knights shot 11-for-62 (17.7%) from the field, including a 5-for-27 (18.5%) clip from long range.
