Women’s Hoops Tabbed Fifth Ahead Of Howard’s First Year Leading The Purple Knights
Women’s basketball is listed as the number five team in the North Division ahead of head coach James Howard’s first run with the Purple Knights.
New Haven, Conn. – The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team have been selected to number five in the North Division of this year's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's preseason coaches released on Tuesday.
Bridgeport is embarking on their second season within the CACC and first year under head coach James Howard. The Purple Knights finished the 2022-23 campaign with a 9-18 overall record and were 5-13 in CACC play.
The top four teams in each of the CACC's division earn a spot in the conference championship tournament. This year's conference championship semifinals and finals will be hosted by Caldwell University in Caldwell, N.J. on March 9-10, 2024.
Bridgeport will start their 2-23-24 season march on November 11th as they head to Staten Island N.Y. to face off with the College of Staten Island Dolphins. They open conference play on November 29th as they travel to Orangeburg, N.Y. to dance with the Dominican University Mustangs.
