Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team closed out its 2022-23 home schedule in Hubbell Gym with a 54-51 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss against Alliance University.. The Purple Knights are now 9-16 overall and 5-11 in conference play. Alliance moves to 4-17 overall and 3-12 in the CACC.
UB led 27-24 at the half, but Alliance outscored the hosts 19-9 in the third quarter and never trailed in the final stanza.
Sophomore Brianna Meekins (Bridgeport, Conn.) led the Purple Knights with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior Tariah Bryant (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also reached double figures for Bridgeport with 10 points.
UB's Stephanie McBride (Sr., Brooklyn, N.Y.) pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and blocked three shots in the contest.
Up next, the UB women's basketball team closes out the regular season with a two-game road swing beginning on Saturday at afternoon at Felician University. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m. in East Rutherford, N.J.
