Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team fell to the visiting Daemen College Wildcats, 75-53 in an East Coast Conference matchup on Sunday afternoon. The Purple Knights were first on the board and led 8-2 early on, but the Wildcats quickly erased the lead and never trailed for the remainder of the afternoon. The Purple Knights are now 8-9 overall and 4-3 in the ECC. The Wildcats move to 8-8 on the season and 5-2 in the ECC.
Senior Sarah Middleton (Barrington, R.I.) and junior Kayla Hill (Massapequa, N.Y.) led UB with 14 points apiece. It was a touch day on offense for the Purple Knights, as the team struggled shooting the ball, connecting on only 24.1% of their field goals going 14-of-58 from the floor.
The UB women's basketball team is scheduled to travel to LIU Post on Wednesday night in hopes of getting back in the win column. Tip-off is set for 5:00 pm.
