Manchester, N.H.- The University of Bridgeport women's basketball team closed out the 2017 portion of this season's schedule with a 73-49 loss at Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon. The contest was also UB's final non-conference game of the year. Bridgeport is now 4-10 so far this season, and SNHU ups its season mark to 9-4.
Junior Samnell Vonleh (Swampscott, Mass.) led Bridgeport in scoring with 12 points. Vonleh also led the team with seven rebounds and three blocks in the contest.
Bridgeport turned the ball over 18 times to Southern New Hampshire's 12, and the Penmen also outrebounded UB by a count of 48 to 36.
Up next as the calendar moves into 2018, the UB women's basketball team will return to action and East Coast Conference play at University of District of Columbia on Wednesday, January 3. The tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m.
