Softball's Perreault Wins Third CACC Player of the Week Award
Went 3-for-5 with six RBIs and three runs scored during UB's sweep of Dominican to close the regular season.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – For the third time this season, junior Sydnee Perreault of the University of Bridgeport's softball team has been named as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Player of the Week. She serves as UB's ninth CACC weekly award winner this season.
Perreault is once again recognized by the conference thanks to a dominant end to the regular season. The Rhode Island native went 3-for-5 with six RBIs, three runs scored and a walk during UB's sweep of Dominican on Wednesday, adding two stolen bases and a grand slam in Game Two.
While postseason performances are not factored into the conference's weekly awards, Perreault carried that momentum into the CACC First Round, delivering an even more impressive outing against Goldey-Beacom. She went 5-for-8 with six RBIs, three doubles, a triple and a home run across the two wins.
Perreault and the rest of UB's softball team will return to action on Thursday afternoon in the double-elimination portion of the CACC Tournament held at Wilmington University. The third-seeded Purple Knights will face second-seeded Felician at 1:30 p.m.
