Thibodeaux Tabbed CACC Softball Player of the Week
Batted .636 with three doubles, three walks and a home run during four-game stretch.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After a red-hot stretch across four games last week, sophomore Paityn Thibodeaux of the University of Bridgeport softball team was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) Player of the Week on Monday. She picks up UB Softball's eighth CACC weekly award of the season (most in the league).
Thibodeaux turned in a standout week at the plate, leading the Purple Knights with a .636 batting average on seven hits during a 2-2 stretch. The California native piled up three doubles and a home run while driving in three runs and drawing three walks for a .714 on-base percentage.
Thibodeaux delivered her top performance in a 7-4 win over Wilmington on Friday, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles and a walk. She continues to rank among the CACC's top hitters this season, currently ranking second in RBIs (33), on-base percentage (.489) and walks (22).
Thibodeaux and the rest of UB's softball team will return to action on Wednesday with their regular-season finales against Dominican (2:30 p.m.).
