Softball Has Five Named CSC Academic All-District

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following terrific academic and athletic performances this past spring, five members of the University of Bridgeport's softball team have earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division II Academic All-District honors for 2025.

Kaite Burawski, Emily Chase, Madison D'Amato, Samantha Ledger, and McKenzie Morgan, who all played pivotal roles for a UB squad that won the CACC regular season and earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament, were each selected to the CSC's Academic All-District Team.

Kaite Burawski | Graduate Student | 3.92 GPA | Master's of Public Health

- Totaled a 1.89 ERA across 159.0 innings pitched in 2025 with 188 strikeouts
- CACC Pitcher of the Year (First Team)
- NFCA and D2CCA All-Region First Teams
- NFCA DII Pitcher of the Year Watchlist
- CACC Pitcher of the Week (3/24, 3/3)
- CACC All-Tournament Team
- Three-time CSC Academic All-District
- Three-time NFCA Scholar Athlete
- 2024 CACC All-Academic Team
- Has made all three CACC Academic Honor Rolls

Emily Chase | Junior | 3.97 GPA | Health Sciences

- Appeared in 41 games in 2025, making 39 starts
- Scored 14 runs, tallied 11 RBIs, three doubles and a triple
- Back-to-back winner of the CACC Softball Championship Top XVII Award (Highest cumulative GPA at the final's site
- Two-time NFCA Scholar Athlete
- 2024 CACC All-Academic Team
- Has made all three CACC Academic Honor Rolls

Madison D'Amato | Senior | 3.72 GPA | Health Sciences

- Batted .451 in 2025 with 20 doubles, two triples, 55 runs scored and a .521 on-base percentage
- Registered a 32-game hitting streak this season
- NFCA All-Region Second Team
- D2CCA All-Region Second Team
- CACC All-Conference Second Team
- NFCA DII Player of the Year Watchlist
- Two-time CSC Academic All-District
- Three-time NFCA Scholar Athlete
- Two-time CACC All-Academic
- Has made all three CACC Academic Honor Rolls

Samantha Ledger | Sophomore | 4.0 GPA | Business Administration

- Appeared in 40 games in 2025, making 37 starts
- Tallied five home runs, four doubles, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored
- NFCA Scholar Athlete for 2023-24
- Has made all three CACC Academic Honor Rolls
- Will make CACC's All-Academic Team in 2025

McKenzie Morgan | Sophomore | 3.83 GPA | Criminal Justice & Human Security

- Appeared in 45 games in 2025, making 39 starts
- Recorded 28 hits, nine doubles, 18 RBIs and 18 walks
- NFCA Scholar Athlete for 2023-24
- Has made all three CACC Academic Honor Rolls
- Will make CACC's All-Academic Team in 2025

Through the Academic All-America program, CSC names separate Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams at each the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III levels, while the College Division team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
