Softball's Thibodeaux Named CACC's Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following a terrific string of games last week, freshman Paityn Thibodeaux of the University of Bridgeport's softball team has been selected as the CACC's Rookie of the Week.

Thibodeaux posted a team-best batting average (.750) last week for a UB team that went 6-2. The California native went 9-for-12 with two walks and a pair of RBIs. She capped off the stretch in impressive fashion, going 8-for-8 over her final four games which included wins over Dominican, Molloy and Holy Family. Thibodeaux is now batting .368 this season (4th on the team) with 15 RBIs and 12 walks.

Thibodeaux and the rest of UB's softball team will return to action tomorrow with a home doubleheader against Jefferson (2:30 p.m.).
