Fiona Richards (Discus) | Emma Pastorelli (Heptathlon) | Edoardo Vandelli (800m)
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following sensational performances throughout the 2026 campaign, three University of Bridgeport student-athletes earned All-Region recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced on Wednesday.
Edoardo Vandelli (800m), Fiona Richards (discus) and Emma Pastorelli (heptathlon) each collected the prestigious honor after finishing among the top five performers in the East Region in their respective events this season.
Edoardo Vandelli – 800m
Vandelli earned All-Region recognition in the 800m after posting the third-fastest time in the region this season. The honor was fueled by a sensational performance at the 2026 CACC Outdoor Championships where Vandelli captured UB's first-ever men's conference title with a winning time of 1:52.65. He crossed the finish line more than three seconds ahead of the field and came just 0.36 seconds shy of the meet record.
Vandelli also secured All-Region accolades during the indoor season after recording a time of 1:53.91 in the 800m.
Fiona Richards – Discus
Richards earned All-Region recognition in the discus after posting the top mark in the East Region this spring.
Richards launched a school-record throw of 46.65m at the Charlotte 49er Classic in March, a mark that stood nearly three meters farther than any other competitor in the region while also meeting NCAA provisional qualifying standards.
Richards was previously recognized as an All-Region honoree during the indoor season as well, earning accolades in both the shot put and weight throw.
Emma Pastorelli – Heptathlon
Pastorelli earned All-Region honors in the heptathlon after recording the fifth-highest score in the East Region during the outdoor season. Her standout performance came at the Charlotte 49er Classic in March where she compiled 3,446 points across the seven-event competition.
Pastorelli posted a season-best mark of 26.74m in the javelin at the meet while racing to a season-low time of 16.52 in the 100-hurdles.
