Dragun and Toussi of Men's Swimming and Diving Collect NE10 Weekly Awards
Jurica Dragun, NE10 Swimmer of the Week | Christian Toussi, NE10 Rookie of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following outstanding marks during a dual meet win over Assumption last week, freshmen Jurica Dragun and Christian Toussi of the University of Bridgeport's men's swimming and diving team were each recognized with Northeast-10 Conference weekly awards on Tuesday. Dragun was named as the NE10's Swimmer of the Week while Toussi earned his second Rookie of the Week honor.
Dragun delivered a dominant performance in last week's meet against Assumption, winning all three of his events. He captured the 100-breast in 56.54, the 200-breast in 2:07.19, and helped lead the Purple Knights to victory in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:33.94. Impressively, all three marks currently stand as the fastest times in the NE10 this season.
Toussi was also part of UB's victorious 200-medley relay and added three more triumphs against the Greyhounds. The Norwegian posted NE10-leading times in both the 100-back (50.44) and 100-fly (51.09), while also helping Bridgeport capture first place in the 200-free relay with a time of 1:27.23. Toussi nabs his second NE10 Rookie of the Week award this season.
Dragun, Toussi and the rest of UB's men's swimming and diving team will return to action next Saturday (Nov. 8) with a home tri-meet against the University of Saint Joseph and Roger Williams.
