Men's Swimming and Diving Surges Past Felician, 144-46
Purple Knights now 2-0 in NE10 dual meets this season.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Competing inside the Baum Family Aquatic Center for a second straight NE10 dual meet, the University of Bridgeport's men's swimming and diving team posted a 144-46 victory over Felician University on Friday night. The Purple Knights won every event but one as they move to 2-0 in dual meets this season.
Bridgeport opened the night with a win in the 400-medley relay, as Christian Toussi, Jurica Dragun, Maximiliano Pedrozo Sevila, and Camilo Villalba Vera touched first in 3:51.36.
Individually, Sultanbek Azat served as a double winner, cruising to victories in both the 800-free (8:30.61) and 400-free (4:03.30), while Villalba Vera added a triumph in the 200-free (1:56.85).
William Crecca, meanwhile, sprinted to first in the 50-free (24.16) before Juan David Urrea Vargas impressed on the boards, taking the one-meter diving title with a score of 211.13.
Pedrozo Sevila (100-fly, 57.01), Matt Burrows (100-free, 53.70), Brady Stangl (100-back, 1:02.02), and Dragun (100-breast, 1:03.95) each added individual victories to Bridgeport's tally as well.
The Purple Knights closed the meet in style as Crecca, Azat, Diego Carrion-Alonzo, and Darcy Higgins powered to a win in the 200-free relay (1:39.29), capping an outstanding all-around team effort.

Bridgeport will travel to Assumption University next Friday for dual meet against the Greyhounds at 3 p.m.
