Brookville, N.Y.-The host LIU Post Pioneers, ranked number eight in the nation in NCAA Division II men's soccer by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, scored a first half goal in the eleventh minute of action, and added two more in the second half, to post a 3-0 East Coast Conference victory over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. With the win, LIUP remains unbeaten on the year at 8-0-0 and 2-0-0 in conference play. Bridgeport is still searching for its first win of 2016, as the Purple Knights are now 0-7-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the ECC.
Up next, the UB men's soccer team will continue its five-match road trip after taking 10 days off from match play. The Purple Knights return to action at Wilmington (Del.) University on Tuesday, October. 4. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
