Washington, D.C.-The host University of the District of Columbia Firebirds netted the only goal of the match a little over 16 minutes into the second half, as UDC posted a 1-0 East Coast Conference men's soccer victory over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Saturday in our Nation's Capital. The Firebirds are now 1-5-0 overall and 1-0-0 in ECC play this season, and UB slips to 0-6-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference action.
On the afternoon, UDC outshot Bridgeport, 17-12.
UB goalkeeper Juan Munoz (So., Bogota, Colombia) made six saves in his first start of the year.
UDC's Ever Alvarez earned his first clean sheet of 2016 by making one save.
