Bridgeport, Conn.-Senior Michael Cunningham scored two goals, and junior goalkeeper Michael Scavone made four saves, as the visiting Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks defeated the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights, 3-0, on Friday afternoon in the 2014 East Coast Conference opener for both teams. With the win, RWC is now 4-0-2 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play. UB now stands at 1-3-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the ECC.
Cunningham netted his team's second and third goals after freshman Cameron Stewart scored the first goals of the match 16:44 into action.
Bridgeport outshot Roberts Wesleyan, 10-7, on the afternoon, but the Purple Knights could not find the back of net.
