Bridgeport Men's Soccer Home Opener Washed Away
Purple Knights Led 1-0 At 16:32 Mark Before Mother Nature Intervened

Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team had its 2013 home opener versus Bloomfield College washed away by violet storms that raced through Southern Connecticut on Thursday evening. UB had just taken a 1-0 lead at the 16:32 mark before the severe weather struck, when senior Andreas Blanke (Gothenburg, Sweden) converted a penalty kick after a Bloomfield hand ball in the box
The match will now be made up in its entirety at a later date.
The Purple Knights will now play their 2013 home opener on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. when they host Wilmington (Del.) University, a 3-1 loser to LIU Post earlier today, in the final game of the 2013 UB Men's Soccer Classic.
