Men's Basketball's Edokpayi Named to All-Met Second Team
Also named to CACC All-Conference Second Team; Led the Purple Knights in scoring, rebounding and blocks.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following a sensational grad year for the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball squad, Jason Edokpayi has been selected to the 2025-26 All-Met Second Team, as announced by the Met Basketball Writers Association last week.
After playing a key role on UB's CACC Championship squad a year ago, Edokpayi took another step forward with an outstanding 2025-26 campaign. He paced the Purple Knights in scoring (15.9 ppg), rebounding (7.9 rpg) and blocks (1.9 bpg), emerging as the team's most impactful presence on both ends of the floor.
His production climbed even higher in conference play, where he averaged 17.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.0 blocks across 20 CACC games. Among the league leaders, he ranked fourth in rebounding, second in blocks and seventh in scoring, while closing the season with 22 straight double-digit scoring efforts and seven double-doubles.
Edokpayi topped the 20-point mark six times on the year, highlighted by a career-best 32-point performance in the season finale at Goldey-Beacom.
Over his two-year career at UB (58 games), he averaged 12.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting an efficient 50.8 percent from the field.
