Franklin of Men's Basketball Tabbed to the CACC's 2025-26 All-Academic Team
Gabe Franklin, Graduate Student (3.73 GPA, Business Administration)
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following another year of terrific efforts both in the classroom and on the basketball court, graduate student Gabe Franklin of the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball squad has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) 2025-26 All-Academic Team.
Franklin, who currently owns a 3.73 GPA as an MBA student, appeared in 54 games for the Purple Knights over the past seasons. He served as a key sub for UB's 2024-25 team that won the CACC Tournament Championship and earned a berth into the NCAA East Regional.
Franklin was also selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2024-25.
CACC All-Academic Team CRITERIA:
*Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically.
*A student-athlete must be in their second year at current institution.
*Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale)
*A first-year graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student.
*A second-year graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) just in their graduate studies program.
*Competed in at least 2/3s (67%) of team's games/matches or started in at least ½ (50%) of a team's games/matches.
