Big Second Half Fuels Men's Basketball to 99-83 Win at Bloomfield
Purple Knights get first road win and improve their record to 2-1.
BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Playing their first road game of the 2025-26 season, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team earned a 99-83 win at Bloomfield College on Wednesday night. The decisive road triumph puts the Purple Knights' record at 2-1 this year.
Bridgeport broke open a tight four-point game at half with a terrific final 20 minutes. After leading 41-37 at the break, the Purple Knights exploded for 58 points on 58-percent shooting (26-for-45) from the floor in the second half.
UB's best stretch came in the form of a 21–6 run that pushed the lead to 78–58 with 8:54 to play, effectively putting the contest out of reach. From there, the visitors controlled the pace and cruised to the finish.
It was a remarkably balanced effort for the Purple Knights, as 15 different players scored, and 12 registered multiple made field goals. Bridgeport's bench played a massive role, contributing 49 points and 14 steals in a rotation that saw 20 Purple Knights earn minutes.
Individually, junior Zay Sullivan led the scoring with 14 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists, while Jason Edokpayi added 13 points, a team-high seven boards, and a pair of blocks.
John Dash Jr. served as UB's final player in double figures with 12 points, in addition to tallying a team-high four assists, and three steals.
UB's depth was on full display, as the bench poured in 49 points, highlighted by eight from Jaheem Tyson, seven from Jaden Palmer, and six each from Thomas Glover and Jordan Miller.
Malikai Delgado also sparked UB off the bench courtesy of a team-best four steals.
As a team, Bridgeport shot an efficient 51.9 percent from the floor, dominated the glass 50–39 (21 offensive), and racked up 19 steals that fueled 36 points off turnovers.
