Men's Basketball Picked Fourth in 2025-26 CACC Preseason Coaches Poll
The defending conference champs received a pair of first-place votes; Dominican voted as favorite.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – 226 days removed from capturing last year's CACC Championship in Philadelphia, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team has been picked fourth in the conference's preseason coaches poll announced on Tuesday. The defending champions, who received a pair of first-place votes, are slotted behind Dominican, Jefferson and Post.
The Purple Knights, led by fourth-year head coach Krunch Senadhi, bring back a wealth of experience from a team that won its first-ever CACC Championship in 2025 and appeared in the NCAA East Regional for the first time since 2020.
Bridgeport's roster features a total of 12 returners, including seven that played in the CACC championship win over Post last March. In fact, Malikai Delgado and Jason Edokpayi each scored in double figures in that contest with Delgado being named to the CACC's All-Tournament.
UB's 10 newcomers, who have joined the defending champs this season, consist of four juniors, three freshmen, two sophomores and a senior.
Bridgeport's 2025-26 season will officially begin on Nov. 14 with a home game against Franklin Pierce followed by another home contest on the 16th versus Southern Connecticut State.
