Men's Basketball Enters NABC National Top-25 For The First Time This Season At Number 24
Purple Knights Open This Week At 12-2 Overall And On An Eight-Game Winning Streak
Bridgeport, Conn.-For the first time this season, the University of Bridgeport men's basketball team, under the direction of head coach Mike Ruane, has entered the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) National NCAA Division II Top-25. The 12-2 Purple Knights, who are winners of eight games in row, make their first appearance in the 2019-20 NABC Top-25 at number 24 this week.
UB is one of four new teams to enter this week's Top-25. The highest ranked among them is Barry at No. 19, while Jefferson checked in at No. 22 and Bridgeport makes its inaugural appearance at No. 24. Chico State, who handed UC San Diego its only loss this season, joins the rankings at No. 25. Chico State's entry into the top 25 gives the California Collegiate Athletic Association three teams in this week's poll, joining the Great Lakes Valley Conference, Lone Star Conference and Sunshine State Conference with three teams apiece. A total of 13 conferences have teams ranked in this week's top 25.
This week, the UB men will host Molloy on Wednesday night and New York Tech on Saturday afternoon.
