Rockville Centre, N.Y.-It was a tough night of the offensive end of the court for the University of Bridgeport men's basketball, who came into Wednesday's play averaging 91.0 points per game, as the Purple Knight led only once at 3-2 and fell in an East Coast Conference contest to the host Molloy College Lions, 78-69. With the loss, the Purple Knights are now 12-11 overall and 7-6 in the ECC. The Lions up their season mark to 15-8 and run their conference record to 11-3.
Bridgeport shot only 33.3 percent (25-of-75) from the floor on Wednesday, including connecting on only 8-of-35 three-point shots (22.9%).
UB trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half, and the Purple Knights were down 47-42 at the half. UB managed to cut the deficit to only two at 60-58 with 10:18 to play; however, that was as close as Bridgeport would come for the remainder of the contest.
