O'Neal's Late Home Run Leads Baseball to Dramatic Win at Georgian Court

RED BANK, N.J. – Beginning a three-game mid-week CACC series, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team (6-7, 2-2 CACC) earned a dramatic 8-6 win at Georgian Court on Wednesday afternoon.
Trailing 6-5 with just five outs remaining, senior shortstop Liam O'Neal launched a three-run home run over the left-field wall, scoring Michael Incontro and JJ O'Connor to put UB back in front for good.
O'Connor pinch ran for Conor Lesczczynski, who was hit by a pitch, while Incontro reached on a one-out single.
UB's offense was productive throughout the day, totaling 12 hits with multiple players contributing. Andrew Sinclair led the way with a 3-for-5 performance and an RBI, while Patrick Krempasky (2-for-4, RBI) and Anthony Armenia (2-for-5, two runs) also turned in multi-hit efforts. O'Neal finished with a game-high four RBIs, providing the difference in the contest.
The Purple Knights' big inning came in the fifth, plating four runs to turn a 2-1 deficit into a 5-2 lead. Krempasky highlighted the rally with an RBI triple, while Sinclair and Lesczczynski each drove in runs during the frame.
Georgian Court responded by capitalizing on a pair of UB errors and later went ahead with two runs in the seventh to take a 6-5 lead, setting the stage for O'Neal's late-game heroics.
On the mound, Dominick Weidtman earned the win in relief, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out one to close out the victory.
UB's starting pitcher Matt Wild provided a solid effort, going six innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out five.
