Old Westbury, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport baseball saw its 2019 season come to end on Saturday afternoon, as the Purple Knights fell, 15-0, to the LIU Post Pioneers on Championship Saturday of the East Coast Conference Baseball Tournament. UB closes out the season at 21-29, and the Pioneers move onto next week's NCAA Division II Championship Tournament at 36-14.
Freshman Christian DeJarnette (Seymour, Conn.) reached base three times for the Purple Knights on two singles and a walk. Classmate Joey Grillo (Sound Beach, N.Y.) added three hits for Bridgeport on Saturday.
UB has reached the final of the ECC Baseball Championship in six of the last nine seasons.
