Wilmington, Del.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team picked up a doubleheader split on Saturday afternoon against the 21st-ranked Wilmington (Del.) University Wildcats, as the Purple Knights rallied to take game two, 3-2, after falling in the opener, 6-0.  With the split, UB is now 2-12 so far in 2019.  Wilmington is now 9-5 overall.

In Saturday's first game, freshman Cory Listing (West Sand, Lake, N.Y.) had two hits.

In the nightcap, freshman Joey Grillo (Sound Beach, N.Y.), who had two runs batted in in the contest, slammed what proved to be a game-winning solo home run in the top of the fifth inning.

Sophomore Vincent DeRubeis (Trumbull, Conn.) had three hits including two doubles and one RBI for the winners, and classmate Conall Roberts (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) contributed two hits, one of which was a triple.

On the mound, newcomer, junior William Jackson (New Haven, Conn.) earned his first win in a UB uniform working five no-hit innings in which fanned six and allowed two unearned runs.  Classmate Jason Burger (Orlando, Fla.) allowed only one hit over the game's final two innings to pick up the save.

The same two teams will close out their three-game series on Sunday afternoon in the First State.
