Thayer Was Outstanding In UB Debut Defeating Felician With Eight Dazzling Innings Pitched

Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport freshman left-handed pitcher Adam Thayer (Ansonia, Conn.) has been selected as the first East Coast Conference Baseball Rookie of the Week for the 2014 season.
Thayer was simply outstanding in his UB debut on Saturday versus Felican College as he picked up the win in a 4-1 Purple Knights' victory. Adam hurled eight innings of three-hit ball in which he allowed only one run while striking out seven and walking only three.
