Eric Schillter Named ECC Baseball Player of the Week

Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport junior first baseman Eric Schlitter (Guilford, Conn.) was been selected as the East Coast Conference Baseball Player of the Week for his outstanding play in UB's games the took place from April 4-10, 2011.

Schlitter, who leads the Purple Knights with a .364 batting average so far this season, remained red-hot in the three Bridgeport games played going 5-for-9 at the plate (.556 batting average) with five runs batted in. Eric also scored three runs and drew two walks without a strike out during the week. Schillter posted a .778 slugging percentage and a .583 on-base percentage during the week. He also was outstanding in the field handling 22 chances at first without an error.
