Jones and Krempasky Claim UB Purple Knight of the Week Honors (April 13-19)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following superb performances on the diamond last week, senior Mya Jones of the University of Bridgeport's softball team and junior Patrick Krempasky of the baseball squad have claimed UB's Purple Knights of the Week honors for the period ending April 19, 2026.

Jones posted an outstanding week at the plate, hitting .615 with five RBIs and three runs scored over four games. She came through in a big moment on Saturday, lacing a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to give the Purple Knights a 4-3 victory over Chestnut Hill. Later that day, she also launched the 18th home run of her career. The strong stretch lifted her season average to .410 (fourth in the CACC) while boosting her on-base percentage to .484, good for second in the conference.

Krempasky turned in a strong all-around week at the plate, batting .389 (7-for-18) with six RBIs and three runs scored while helping the Purple Knights to a 3-1 record. He recorded at least one hit in every game, highlighted by a 3-for-5, three-RBI performance in Saturday's 7-3 win at Lincoln. Krempasky also drew three walks to post a .476 on-base percentage and swiped three bases on the week.
