Jessen and Beatrix Named UB's Purple Knights of the Week (Sept. 22-28)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of excellent performances, both on the court and on the field, junior Hailey Jessen of the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team and graduate student Enzo Beatrix of the men's soccer squad have been named UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Sept. 28.

Jessen put together a stellar pair of matches last week as she averaged 3.89 kills per set while hitting a terrific .391. The Colorado native also chipped in 14 digs, six aces and four blocks during the stretch. Jessen was especially productive in a mid-week match at Dominican when she piled up a season-best 24 kills and a hit a season-high .442.

Beatrix helped the men's soccer team to a 2-0 week by totaling two goals and an assist. He was especially impactful in Saturday's 3-2 road victory at No. 16 Wilmington, recording a goal and an assist in the second half to help UB secure the victory. Earlier in the week, Beatrix found the back of the net in a 2-0 win at Caldwell.
