D'Amato and Jacobs Named UB's Purple Knights of the Week (March 3-9)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Fresh off sensational efforts last week, Madison D'Amato of the University of Bridgeport's softball team and Caleb Jacobs of the men's basketball squad have been selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending March 9.

D'Amato registered a superb .462 batting average during UB's 6-2 stretch last week in Florida. She also scored 10 runs while extending her current hit streak to 12 straight games. In fact, D'Amato has reached base in all 14 of UB's contests this season and currently stands with an on-base percentage of .500 (6^th, CACC). She is also slotted sixth in the CACC with 18 total hits.

Jacobs was named to the CACC's All-Tournament Team last week after helping the Purple Knights to their first conference championship since 2015 (ECC). He posted averages of 11.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists as UB earned victories over Chestnut Hill, Dominican and Post to hoist the program's first-ever CACC title. Jacobs was especially clutch in the quarterfinals when he poured in 16 points and tallied five assists in a four-point win at Chestnut Hill.
