Ramsay and Miranda Named UB's Purple Knights of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following superb efforts on the pitch last week, Leigh-Ann Ramsay of the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team and Joao Mirando of the men's squad have been selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Oct. 20.
Ramsay was sensational during a Senior Day victory on Saturday against Chestnut Hill. The graduate student put in a pair of goals and added an assist in a 4-2 win over the Griffins. She also found the back of the net against Assumption last Wednesday. Ramsay is now UB's leading scorer with five goals this season.
Miranda served as the hero for UB during a 3-2 win over Chestnut Hill on Saturday. The sophomore scored his first goal of the year—a game-winner—in the 87th minute as Bridgeport erased a 2-1 deficit to the Griffins. Continuing his great year, Miranda currently ranks third in the CACC in assists (6) this season.
