Purple Knights Move Into NCAA East Regional Volleyball Final With 3-0 win Over Dowling

Garden City, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team moved into the 2015 NCAA Division II East Regional Championship Finals with a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-17, 25-21) over the Dowling College Golden Lions on Friday night.  The number two seed in the regional, UB is 27-8 overall, and the number three Golden Lions finish the 2015 season at 2608.  Bridgeport will now face the number four seed NYIT Bears in Saturday's East Region Final that will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.

Junior Katarina Krstonosic (Kikinda, Serbia) notched a double for the winners with 13 kills and 12 digs, as did teammate, senior Sarah Rosa (Itajuba, Brazil) who had 10 kills and a team-best 14 digs.

Bridgeport junior Frida Randen (Sodertalje, Sweden) also reached double-digit kills with 10.

UB freshman setter Ellie Rich (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) directed her team's offense with 35 assists.
