Central Islip, NY-The
University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team will be the number
two seed in this weekend's 2009 East Coast Conference Women's
Volleyball Championship Tournament that will be hosted on Friday,
November 13 and Saturday, November 14 by the number one seed
Dowling College Golden Lions in Oakdale, NY.
In Friday's first semifinal to be played at 5:00 p.m., Dowling
(25-5, 11-1 ECC) will number four seed New York Tech (13-18, 7-5
ECC). UB will be in action in the second semifinal on Friday,
which is schedule to start at 7:30 p.m. when the Purple Knights
(29-6, 10-2 ECC) will face the third seed C.W. Post Pioneers
(14-13, 8-4 ECC).
Friday's winners will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday to decide
the 2009 ECC Women's Volleyball title. Saturday's winner will
also receive an automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division II Women's
Volleyball Championship Tournament that will begin on Thursday,
November 19.
