Canton, OH-The University of Bridgeport women's
400 medley relay team of Sandra
Schmitz, Alena Gorlanova, Anna
Kwiatkowska and Roxana Purcelea
turned in an All-America performance by taking fourth place with a
time of 3:49.08 on day two of the 2010 NCAA Division II Women's
Swimming and Diving Championship in Canton, OH on Thursday
night. Also earning All-America honors on the UB women's 400
medley relay team was Anna
Krasnowska, who swam in the prelims. Halfway
through the 2010 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming and Diving
Championships, the UB women are in 14th place with 48
points. The Purple Knight men are in 16th place with 42 points
through 20 events.
The Bridgeport men finished 16th in the 400 Medley Relay
(3:25.76) and 10th in the 200 Free Relay (1:23.22 ) to add eight
more Honorable Mention All-America accolades to the team's total in
its first-ever NCAA Championship.
The UB women took 15th in the 200 Free Relay (1:36.72) to take
Honorable Mention All-America honors in that event.
Bridgeport swimmers will be back in the pool on Friday
morning, as the 2010 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Swimming
and Diving Championships heads into the final two days.
