West Chester, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team dominated the match outshooting Kutztown University Golden Bears, 25-2, on the day, but one of KU's shots found the back of the net to end the Purple Knights stellar 2016 season with a 1-0 loss in the NCAA Women's Soccer National Quarterfinals held on a frigid Sunday afternoon at West Chester University. The Golden Bears move onto to Kansas City with a record of 20-4-0; while UB's season comes to a close at 18-4-0 and just one win shy of back-to-back trips to the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer semifinals.
The match's only score came just 9:50 into the second half when Kutztown's Emily Zwiercan floated a shot to the back of the net off an assist from Felicia Silveria.
Bridgeport had 16 shots to zero for the Golden Bears in the first half.
The loss snaps a 15-match winning streak for the Purple Knights.
