Brock Roggie And Allie Wiggins Earn Weekly ECC Awards
Roggie Named Conference Baseball Player of the Week and Wiggins Earns Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week Accolades
Central Islip, N.Y.-Junior Brock Roggie (Lowville, N.Y.) from the University of Bridgeport baseball team and freshman Allie Wiggins (Waterford, Conn.) from the Purple Knights' women's lacrosse team have been selected for East Coast Conference Weekly Awards for their outstanding play in games from March 4 through March 10, 2013. Roggie was named ECC Baseball Player of the Week, and Wiggins was named ECC Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week.
In three games last week, Roggie went 6-for-12 on the week (.500 batting average) for the Purple Knights. He also scored three runs, drove in two and was 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts.
Wiggins got her intercollegiate career off to fast start, netting five goals and recording one assist on the week as she helped Bridgeport open the 2013 campaign at 2-0 with wins over Post and Findlay.
