University of Bridgeport gymnastics team won all four events as the
Purple Knights posted a 190.000-176.125 dual meet win at Ursinus
College on Sunday afternoon.
In the all-around competition, junior
Lorraine
Galow (Suwanee, GA) took fist place with a total score
of 38.575 and sophomore
Miranda
Der (Palo Alto, CA) took third place with a total of
37.225 points.
Galow took three first places on the day winning the vault
(9.675), the balance beam (9.800) and the floor exercise with a
score of 9.675.
Der took second place in the vault with a score of 9.600, and
she was third on the beam with a score of 9.675.
Senior
Hannah
Forti (Dix Hills, NY) won the uneven parallel bars
with a score of 9.725, as the Purple Knights went one-two-three in
that event with senior
Carissa
Huggins (Jacksonville, FL) taking second (9.70), and
Lorraine Galow was third (9.435).
Carissa Huggins was also second in the floor exercise behind
Galow with a score of 9.650.
Bridgeport took the top-five spots on the beam, as Galow was
followed by sophomore
Emily Repko
(Gilbertsville, PA) with a score of 9.70, Der at 9.675, sophomore
Caroline
McAvity (Rothesay, New Brunswick, Canada) with a score of 9.550
and Collins rounded out the top five with a score of 9.550.
