Bridgeport, CT- The University
of Bridgeport women's basketball team has received an at-large bid
to the 2010 NCAA Division II Championship Tournament that will
begin on Friday March 12th. The Purple Knights, who will be
making the fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in school history, are
the seventh seed in the eight-team East Regional that will be
hosted by number one seed Franklin Pierce University and
played at Fitchburg State (MA) University. Bridgeport (20-9)
will face the number two seed Holy Family University Tigers (28-2)
in its opening round NCAA game which will be played at 12 noon on
Friday.. This season's NCAA appearance is UB's first since 2005 and
second under sixth-year head coach Mark
McCaleb.

# 3-Stonehill, # 4- Pace, # 5-Molloy,# 6-Bentley, #

The 2009 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball East Regional
semifinals will be played on Saturday, March 14th, and the regional
final will be held on Monday, March 16th.
