UB Softball Falls In A Pair Of Pitchers' Duel On Final Day Of Action In Florida

Clermont, Fla.-The UB softball team closed out its 2017 Spring Trip to Florida on Friday losing to Merrimack, 3-2, and falling by the identical score in eight innings against a tough Kutztown University squad.  The Purple Knights head back north with 9-6 overall mark after going 7-6 in the Sunshine State.

In Friday's opener against Merrimack, junior Gabryelle Dubois (Carlisle, Iowa) had two hits, and sophomore Kamryn Beach (Tampa, Fla.) and senior Meghan O'Leary (Lafayette, N.J.), each drove in a run.

Versus Kutztown, senior pitcher Kaitlyn Lajoie (Vernon, Conn.) was the tough luck loser in extra innings, as she went the distance and limited the powerful Bears to only seven hits.

As a team, the Purple Knights could only manage two hits in Friday's second game.

Freshman Reanna Lizardo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had two steals for UB against KU.
