Bridgeport Swimming Teams Set To Open 2012-13 Season At Home With Meets On Friday And Saturday

Bridgeport, Conn.-In support of October being "Breast Cancer Awareness Month", the University of Bridgeport men's and women's  swimming teams will wear pink competition caps in their 2012-13 season-opening home meets this weekend.  On Friday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. the Purple Knights men's and women's teams face off against Queens (N.Y.) College in their season opener, and on Saturday, October 27, the UB women host Assumption College.

Fans of the Bridgeport swimming teams can come out to watch UB's five- time NCAA Champion (two individual events and three relays titles) and  NCAA Division II Men's 100-yard Backstroke record holder (46.99) Oscar Pereiro (Jr., Arzua, Spain) open the 2012-13 campaign.  Both meets will be held at the University of Bridgeport's Wheeler Recreation Center natatorium, and admission is free.
