Swim Teams Sweep Race and Ramapo

Pleasantville, NY-The University of
Bridgeport men's and women's swimming teams each put on
a strong showing on Saturday afternoon, as the both squads swept
the host Pace Setters and Ramapo.
The UB men defeated Pace, 41-32, and topped Ramapo,
67-53. The UB women posted a 74-1 win over Pace and 77-41 over
Ramapo.
Highlighting the day was the strong performance on the
men's side by junior Piotr Safronczyk
(Bialystok, Poland) won three events with NCAA qualifying standards
in each.
Piotr won the 100-yard breaststroke (56.70 - NCAA"A" Cut); the 200-yard Breaststroke (2:06.38 - NCAA "B" Cut) and the 200-yard IM (1:56.47 - NCAA "B" Cut).
Tbe Bridgeport swimming teams will be back in action on Friday at Manhattan College with NJIT, and the Purple Knights host Post University on Saturday afternoon in the Wheeler Rec. Center.
