UB Baseball Falls Twice At Molloy

Uniondale, N.Y.- The University of Bridgeport baseball team fell twice in an East Coast Conference doubleheader at Molloy College on a chilly Saturday afternoon on Long Island.  Molloy won game one, 8-1, and completed the sweep with a 7-6 victory in the nightcap.  UB is now 8-11 overall and 3-3 in the ECC.  Molloy moves to 8-14 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

In game one, junior Daren Grabowski (Berlin, Conn.) had two hits and drove in his team's lone run.  Senior Casey McCone (Milford, Conn.) and junior Stephen DiNicola (Rochester, N.Y.) also had two hits in the opener.

In game two, UB raced out to leads of 3-0 and 6-2, but Molloy scored an unearned run in the fourth inning to take a 7-6 lead which proved to be the final score.

Graduate student Zach Burger (Orlando, Fla,) went 4-for-4 to lead the UB offense in game two.

The same two teams will meet again on Long Island on Sunday at 12 noon.  UB will serve as the home team with the game being play at Molloy.
