UB Baseball Blanked By Stonehill

Winter Park, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team saw its early season record fall to 1-3 on Wednesday as the Purple Knights fell to the Stonehill College Skyhawks (9-4), 14-0, in a game played at Rollins College.  Three Stonehill pitchers combined to blank UB on a five-hitter.

Senior Nick Vautrin (S. Hadley, Mass.) started for the Purple Knights and saw his season record drop to 0-2, as he lasted only one inning in which he allowed five runs (three earned) on four base hits.

UB is back in action in the Sunshine State on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. when the face Bentley University in a contest that will be played in Ormond Beach, Florida.
