Baseball Wraps Up 2010 Season With 7-6 Win Over Queens
West Haven, CT-The University
of Bridgeport baseball team wrapped up its 2010 season on a
three-game winning streak with a 7-6 victory over the Queens (NY)
College Knights on Sunday afternoon in a contest played at West
Haven (CT) High School. The Purple Knights finished the season
with a 14-22 overall record and a 12-18 East Coast Conference
mark. Queens wrapped up its season at 18-28 overall and 10-20
in the ECC.
With the game tied 1-1 entering the bottom of the fourth
inning, Bridgeport scored four runs to give the Purple Knights a
5-1 lead which they never relinquished.
Sophomore
Cody
Quinn (Milford, CT) went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead
an 11-hit Bridgeport offensive attack on Sunday.
Senior
Luke
Abraham (Cumberland, RI) and junior
Mike
DeLellis (Marlton, NJ) each drove in two runs for the
winners. DeLellis' RBIs came on triple in the fifth
inning.
Junior
Hunter
Moffatt (Colonie, NY) pitched six strong innings as
starter to pick up his first win of the season (1-1). Senior
Nick
Galioto (N. Babylon, NY) pitched the final three
innings to notch his team-leading third save of the year.
